On March 24, 2023, the AIMCW organized an activity as part of their Human Value Quarter initiative.
The focus of the activity was "Inequality in Nature and Society". The event was held in B Block, Room no.
102, and was attended by 26 enthusiastic students along with all faculty members. The event was
coordinated by Dr. Salma Alam.
The purpose of the activity was to draw the students' attention towards biases, discrimination, and
challenges prevalent at individual, family, societal, and natural levels. The event began with Dr. Salma
Alam delivering a short introduction on human values.
The discussion commenced with the presentation of value points, which were positively received by the
attendees. Dr. Salma Alam initiated the discussion by seeking everyone's opinions on the topic, which
prompted an engaging conversation. The discussion received positive feedback, as many attendees were
able to delve beyond the surface level and explore deeper meanings behind certain societal symbols.
Additionally, students volunteered to share their views on the videos shown during the event, and
contributed relevant points to the discussion, providing valuable insights.
The event concluded with an interactive session based on the discussion, during which volunteers
received feedback from the students. The students presented their case studies, identifying individual
challenges and sufferings. The students reflected positively on the event and actively participated in the
discussion.
Overall, the activity was a success, generating interest and awareness among the students about the
importance of human values and the need to address inequalities in society and nature.
